Seata by AA&P

Terms of Use

Seata is operated by Associated Advertising & Promotions Pty Ltd T/as AA&P Events & PR(ABN 13 085 798 750) (AA&P, We, Us). By using Seata, whether as an event organiser or as a guest, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Seata lets event organisers publish a table lookup for their event: the organiser uploads a seating list and floor plan, and guests can search for their own name to find their allocated table. Seata is an independent AA&P Events & PR product and is not affiliated with EventsAir or any other third party platform.

2. Event organisers

If you create or manage an event in Seata, you confirm that you are authorised to upload the guest information you provide, and that it was collected in accordance with applicable privacy laws. You are responsible for the accuracy of your seating list and floor plan.

Access to manage an event is through a private management link. Anyone who holds that link can manage the event, so you are responsible for keeping it secure and sharing it only with people you want to have that access. If you believe a link has been shared too widely, you can regenerate it at any time from the management pages.

You should close the guest lookup and delete the event, including its seating data, once your event has concluded. Deleting an event is permanent and cannot be undone.

3. Accounts and connected services

You may create an account to manage your events. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You may invite colleagues to help manage an event; by doing so you authorise them to access and change that event, and you are responsible for who you invite.

If you connect an EventsAir account, you confirm you are entitled to use those API credentials and to import the relevant data into Seata. Seata only reads from EventsAir and stores your client secret in encrypted form. You can disconnect at any time, and you should revoke the key within EventsAir if it is no longer needed. You are responsible for keeping the connection's permissions limited to what Seata needs (view-only access).

4. Guests

The guest lookup is provided so that you can find your own table at an event you are attending. You must not use it to look up other people without their knowledge, attempt to extract the guest list, or interfere with the operation of the service. Searches are rate limited to protect the service.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse Seata, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access to events or data, uploading unlawful or infringing content (including images you do not have rights to use), introducing malicious code, or using the service to harass or harm any person. We may suspend or remove events or access where We reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

6. Availability

We aim to keep Seata available and reliable, but We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside Our control. For events where the lookup is critical, organisers should have a fallback (such as printed seating lists at the registration desk).

7. Intellectual property

Seata, including its software, design and branding, is owned by or licensed to AA&P. Content uploaded by event organisers (seating lists, floor plans and banner images) remains the property of the organiser or its owner; by uploading it you grant Us a licence to store, process and display it as needed to provide the service.

8. Privacy

Our handling of personal information in Seata is described in the Seata Privacy Policy and the full AA&P Privacy Policy, available at aapeventspr.com.au.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Seata is provided on an "as is" basis, We exclude all other warranties, and We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, Our liability is limited to resupplying the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, and the "last updated" date below will change whenever the terms are revised. Continued use of Seata after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Northern Territory, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Northern Territory.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to AA&P Events & PR, GPO Box 4475, Darwin NT 0801, or by email to admin@aapeventspr.com.au.
